What should I wear?
For Aerobi-tone classes you need layers of comfortable clothing so that
you can take off items as you get hot. Leggings, shorts, t-shirt,
sweat shirt, track suit bottoms are all useful. You don't need to go
out and buy lots of gear. A pair of trainers are needed but can be a
useful addition to your wardrobe now that you intend to be more
active!
For Pilates no shoes are worn. The same as above applies but you will
not get as hot and in winter will probably keep most of the layers on.
For Studio cycling, comfort on the bike is essential and a pair of
cycling shorts is the best choice (but don't worry if you haven't got
a pair) and a suitable top ideally fast wicking Lycra. Normal training
shoes may be worn, although a stiff soled shoe is better or cycling
shoes with Shimano style SPD clip in's if you have them.
Will I be able to keep up and follow the exercises?
Everyone who attends is there to improve their own fitness so it is
important to work at a level that you feel you can manage.
Alternatives are always given enabling you to start at a lower level
and progress when you feel ready.
Classes are easy to follow and if you are a little lost it is fine
just to march on the spot. In Pilates you will always be given an
exercise to suit the level you are at. In Studio Cycling you always
work to your own level by controlling resistance on the flywheel so it
doesn't matter whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned
athlete - everyone gets a really good workout.
Is everyone who attends really fit?
Classes are run for all abilities, some who have attended for a long
time are fit, others who have joined recently may well take things
more slowly. You are there to improve your fitness and everyone is
encouraged to do what is best for them.
Do I need to bring anything?
Everything is provided although it is recommended that you bring your
own water or preferred rehydration drink. For Studio cycling you will
also need to bring a small towel with you.
What happens if I miss a class during the term
If you miss a class during the term you may make it up at any other
class during the same term where there is space available. Spaces are
not transferable to your friends or other family members because, when
space and equipment is limited, we have to give priority to those who
have committed to the whole term and are making up classes from ones
previously missed.
